The WHS Drama Class is excited to present "Closed for the Holidays," a comedy by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus.

The story follows a group of travelers stranded in a community center during a Christmas Eve blizzard. From a drama teacher with a bus full of students to a couple racing to get married and a sheriff trying to keep order, each character brings humor and heart to this serendipitous holiday adventure.

Performances will be held on December 20 at 7:00 PM and December 21 at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $5 each and on sale now at the link below or at the door. We hope you’ll join us for a festive and entertaining show!

Congratulations to 8th-grade student Emma Reed for being selected as the Grand Prize Winner of the Paint Valley ADAMH Board’s annual Write In Red–Red Ribbon Week Essay Contest, held each October during Red Ribbon Week.

Twelve school districts within the Paint Valley ADAMH catchment area—covering Fayette, Highland, Pickaway, Pike, and Ross counties—participated in this year’s contest. One winner from each school received a $100 prize, and one winner from each county earned a $500 scholarship that can be used toward any accredited college or university.

Emma’s essay was chosen as the $100 school-level winner and also selected as the county-wide winner, earning her the $500 scholarship. Her essay focused on healthy choices individuals can make to remain drug-free, and she credits her Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Trivette, for inspiring her writing.
